Medical Department

Administrative - Medical: Assist with basic administrative duties. Apply

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer: Operate equipment and perform diagnostic examinations using sonography. Bilingual required. Apply

Laboratory Assistant*: Collecting blood/urine specimens, specimen processing and testing as approved by CLIA. Bilingual required. Apply

Medical Professionals*: Must be a(n): MD, DO, NP, FNP, PA, PA-C, DPM, or OD. Apply

  • How do I become a San José Clinic volunteer?
    • To become a volunteer, you will first need to complete a volunteer application by clicking "Apply" in the volunteer position you are interested in above. After completing the application, you will submit it along the with additional requested documentation you will find listed at the end of the application.   • Are there any age requirements to volunteer at San José Clinic?
    • San José Clinic accepts volunteers that are between the ages of 18 years and 85 years.
  • Is there a time commitment required to volunteer at the Clinic?
    • Volunteers can generously give of their time however they choose, be it once a month, once a week, or simply a few hours a day several times a year.
  • Why do I not see a Clinic volunteer role I can fill?
    • San José Clinic is currently recruiting for only the opportunities listed. Please continue to check back for updates.
  • What happens after my volunteer application is submitted?
    • Once your application and the supporting documentation have been received by the volunteer office, it will be reviewed by the appropriate department director for current opportunities.
  • When will I know if I have been accepted to volunteer?
    • Once your application has been reviewed by the department director, you will be contacted by the Volunteer office regarding availability and any further requirements.
  • What additional steps besides the application are required?
    • Background screenings and volunteer orientation are required for all new volunteers.
      • (Exceptions: volunteers working at a special event or those under an affiliation agreement that has been established between San José Clinic and an outside entity, such as an institution of higher learning.)
    • Certified or licensed healthcare professionals will complete a credentialing process. Additional documentation is required and outlined on the application. This may include: license/certification, malpractice insurance, NPI number, DEA certificate, current CPR training, and immunization records including Hepatitis B status and current TB testing.
  • If I am accepted as a San José Clinic volunteer, is there a required orientation?
    • A volunteer orientation will be held for all new volunteers. The orientation includes a tour of the Clinic, an overview of the Clinic’s history, services and polices, completion of paperwork, and HIPAA / bloodborne pathogen training.
