 Listening to those we serve

"After quite a few years of shutting myself mentally and physically. . . away from living a normal life because of such low self-esteem and embarrassment this news is just unbelievable. I'm almost scared to be happy but, of course, I'm THRILLED! I'm ready for this change as I myself have made changes in the past 2 years not to be completely defeated and this adds to my new life. It's what's inside your heart that's important but I'm also going to say, its in a smile also."

"I was faced with agonizing decisions regarding the conditions of my teeth, my smile and my confidence. I am currently without employment and am working toward rebuilding my life. After many visits with Dr. Connally, he determined that the condition of my teeth had declined to a point that was no longer repairable with simple solutions. . . .  I . . . received a call from Estelle stating that she had found a benefactor that was willing to provide the funds to allow me to receive the dental work that I needed. This gracious and kind act was more than appreciated and words could not possibly express my gratitude.  . . . .   I had this procedure done last week and I am now going through the healing stages. Although this is a very painful and slow process, I know that the outcome will be life altering. I will approach the job market with a renewed sense of self-esteem. I can stand tall and my confidence is growing with every day."

"I want to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart for helping my mother. Just as I thought I was losing hope on receiving any help from my mom, I was told about this Clinic and I brought my mother to apply. Thanks to this Clinic my mother was able to receive medical attention and medicine that we weren't able to afford. My mother has had 4 star treatment here and we will forever be grateful."

"My only purpose in writing this letter is to commend both you and your staff for outstanding “user friendly” manner of carrying out their duties in the intake clinic at your facility at 301 Hamilton Street.

"Last Wednesday when I went to your Clinic the very first time, I entered with misgivings and a certain amount of dread of being insulted and maltreated. I am both legally blind and seriously handicapped.  Such people are frequently shunned and or rudely treated.

"However, I am sending you this message to let you know that no such thing did happen. In fact, I was treated with warm, friendly smiles and careful, careful attention to the fact that such ordinary procedures as filling out forms or finding my way around are difficult for me.

"It is my opinion that caring attitude and helpful ways of your staff speak well not only for them, but also for you. I am certain that you yourself selected and trained your staff to be a part of what could be called a “user friendly” service.

"I would like to make special mention of a dear lady at the desk in the intake room, who summed up this attitude succinctly, by telling me “I am only treating you the way that I hope someone else will treat my own mother if she is ever in your position.”

"People don’t see me for the person I am. They always judge me first by my appearance – A face with a missing tooth in front. First thing people do is smile, children don’t know better they just point. ha. …. I am looking forward to my next appointment…because I know I will be feeling more confidence in myself and have a better future without having to feel embarrassed about my appearance…. My life now will be happier. Thank God."

"I would like to thank everyone at San Jose dental clinic for all the help I received there. Everyone was very friendly and professional. This has helped me so much with my self- esteem. You do a great service for people that are having a hard time getting dental work done. It will help me to smile, something I haven’t been able to do. Thanks so much. God bless all of you."

"I would like to thank each and every one of you who contributed to my beautiful smile. My teeth began to fall out one by one every time I became pregnant--to which I am the mother of five beautiful children…. Most of the teeth missing were in the front which left me with a toothless side grin…. I can’t tell you enough how happy I am- my partials (dentures) are beautiful, my smile is perfect and I am no longer ashamed of my smile. I can now enjoy all of the foods I had once given up because there were no teeth. I want to thank (you) for giving me back a part of me."

From an ESL student, "I want to tell you thanks for all the help that you gave me through this clinic without you I don’t have any other doctor to see."
